Clinical Team Leader – Mental Health | Carlingford

We are partnering with a reputable not-for-profit organisation to appoint an experienced Clinical Team Leader to join an established residential rehabilitation mental health program in Carlingford.

This is an opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to provide clinical leadership, guidance and oversight to a multidisciplinary team supporting people with severe and complex mental health needs.

About the role

As Clinical Team Leader, you will:
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to a team supporting approximately 10–12 consumers with complex mental health needs
  • Act as a key clinical escalation point, supporting clinicians to work through complex cases and determine appropriate approaches
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and guidance to team members
  • Support clinical decision-making including risk assessment, care planning and escalation
  • Lead and participate in case reviews, care coordination meetings and clinical handovers
  • Work closely with LHD case managers, Team Leaders and multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide clinical insight and guidance to case workers around their clients' mental health needs
  • Support consumers transitioning from the residential environment towards greater independence and community-based living
  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and safe, recovery-focused practice
  • Participate in the on-call roster approximately one week per month, with an additional allowance.
About you:

We're looking for an experienced mental health clinician with 5+ years' mental health experience, ideally including inpatient or residential settings. Experience with severe and persistent mental illness, complex presentations, Community treatment order and/or Forensic Orders, AOD, and clinical leadership will be highly regarded.


You will also need:

  • Qualifications in psychology, social work, OT, or nursing and professional registration/membership with AHPRA or AASW
  • Current Australian driver's licence
  • Strong clinical leadership, supervision and case coordination capability
  • Confidence acting as an escalation point for clinicians
  • A recovery oriented, trauma informed and person-centred approach
This would suit a Senior Clinician ready to step into a Clinical Team Leader role, or an experienced Team Leader looking for a meaningful short term opportunity within a well-established NFP.
