Here at Be Recruitment we love working with our highly skilled casual team and every month we celebrate them with an employee of the month and receive some well deserved vouchers!
They slot into shifts for various organisations across the sector, including child, youth, and family care, disability support, and more.
Their commitment and hard work continually inspire us, and their stellar performance deserves recognition!
The first winner is… (drumroll)… Silas Kutto!

Silas is an outstanding Support Worker for people who live with disability.
He’s consistently demonstrated a knack for creating genuine, positive connections with clients. This is a huge strength as it better enables Silas to support his clients in the ways that matter to them.
Silas’ meaningful impact in his clients’ lives gets noticed by the organisations he’s placed with, who have passed on fantastic feedback to us.
We also appreciate his flexibility and willingness to take shifts. Silas is a real ‘can-do’ man!

What’s your favourite fun activity to do with your clients?
I enjoy taking my clients for walks or to the cinema, as well as getting them involved in cooking. They generally enjoy these activities, and it breaks up their day.
What’s a goal you’re currently working on with any one of your clients?
One of my clients is trying to lose weight so I am helping by playing soccer in the backyard with him and taking him for one-hour walks on each shift I spend with him.
What do you find is the best way to wind down after a long shift?
I have an 11-month-old daughter, so I don’t really get to wind down after a long shift! Coming home to her is non-stop but so much fun. If I get home in time, I will give her a bath and put her to bed so I am able to enjoy that quiet time of bonding.
What’s a TV show are you currently binge-watching?
I hate to admit it but I have recently started (and finished!) watching Shameless. Highly inappropriate but very entertaining!
What’s your idea of a perfect meal?
Easy! Rump steak well done with salad and chips.
What’s a piece of advice would you give to an aspiring support worker?
Give it a go! I only became a support worker this year and I haven’t looked back! I really love that I can make a positive impact on the lives of others.
