Senior Counsellor

As the Centre continues to grow, we are excited to introduce a brand-new Senior Counsellor role, designed to strengthen clinical leadership, deepen therapeutic practice, and support the ongoing development of our counselling team.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a senior, values-led role within a rapidly expanding, purpose-driven organisation, where your expertise will directly shape practice, people and programs.
About the role As Senior Counsellor, you will:
- Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed counselling to women with complex DFSV experiences
- Work across evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, TF-CBT, schema, somatic, narrative or similar trauma therapies
- Facilitate DFSV-focused therapeutic groups that prioritise safety, empowerment and healing
- Provide mentoring, debriefing and informal clinical leadership to counsellors within the team
- Contribute to service development, reflective practice, quality improvement and therapeutic policy
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary, feminist, survivor-centred model of care
About you You are likely to bring:
- 8–10+ years’ counselling experience supporting women impacted by DFSV and complex trauma
- Tertiary qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work or a related discipline
- Registration or eligibility with AHPRA, AASW, ACA, PACFA or APS
- Strong experience in risk assessment, safety planning and complex case management
- Confidence supporting, mentoring or supervising other practitioners
- A genuine alignment with feminist, trauma- and violence-informed, recovery-oriented practice
