Carer Recruitment and Development Coordinator (Northern NSW)

This is a hands-on leadership role combining team coordination, carer recruitment, community engagement, and practice support, with flexibility, autonomy, and strong organisational backing.
About the role
The CR&D Coordinator supports both the Lismore and Grafton offices, providing leadership and oversight to a small team of part-time CR&D workers, while remaining actively involved in recruitment, assessments, and community engagement.
You will:
- Be based in Lismore or Grafton at least 3 days per week
- Travel to Grafton at least once per week (pool car provided)
- Work from home 1–2 days per week by agreement
- Occasionally support home visits, carer reviews, and assessments (some after hours to suit working families)
- Participate in some after-hours recruitment activities, including community events, markets, and information sessions (on average one weekend per month)
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to CR&D staff across Lismore and Grafton
- Coordinate and contribute to carer recruitment, assessment, training and retention activities
- Support staff with home visits, carer reviews, information exchanges and assessments when required
- Lead and participate in community engagement and recruitment events, including after-hours and weekend activities
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policy, and practice frameworks
- Work collaboratively with regional leadership and community engagement teams
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and recruitment pipelines
- Lismore: 1 experienced CR&D worker (9 days per fortnight)
- Grafton:
- 1 experienced CR&D worker (3 days per week)
- 1 vacant CR&D position (4 days per week)
About you
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Previous leadership or management experience (essential)
- Experience in community services, OOHC, foster/kinship care, family services, or similar
- Confidence supporting staff and working alongside them in practice
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Willingness to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends
- A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel across Northern NSW
